Ferenc Erós (1946-2020)

We are very sorry to hear about the death of Ferenc Erós on February 9th 2020 at the age of 74. He was one of the central pillars of the Psychoanalysis and Politics conferences, ever since his participation in the first conference in Copenhagen in 2010. We remember him as a warm, engaged and eminent scholar of social psychology and the history and social engagement of psychoanalysis. He was Professor of Social Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Pécs, Hungary, where he directed a postgraduate programme in psychoanalytic theory. His main areas of research included history and theory of psychoanalysis, authoritarianism, prejudice, discrimination and antisemitism.
